Our Story

Four years ago, a determined 15-year-old set out to build something of his own with nothing more than a truck, a few spray bottles, and some rags. Under the sweltering summer sun, he spent his days detailing airplanes and cars for cheap, driven by grit and a dream. A turning point came with an apprenticeship under an experienced car detailer who shared the fundamentals of proper detailing techniques and the essentials of running a business. Armed with new skills and insight, he returned to his growing venture, then called Warbird Aero and Auto Detailing, and began to refine both the quality of his work and the structure of the business. That focus and passion eventually evolved the company into what is now known as Plane Clean. From humble beginnings, the business took flight; securing a physical location for the business, taking the socials and internet by storm, and earning contracts with Part 91 corporate flight departments and charter operations. Today, Plane Clean stands as a testament to how far dedication and hard work can go.

Today, Plane Clean is thriving in the aircraft detailing space, earning a reputation for quality, consistency, and professionalism. The company continues to grow by forming strong partnerships with other businesses and organizations across the aviation industry. These collaborations are not only helping to better serve their clients, but also supporting fellow detailers and contributing to the overall advancement of the detailing community. Through shared knowledge, mutual support, and a commitment to excellence, Plane Clean is constantly evolving, improving its services, expanding its reach, and refining its operations to remain a trusted name in aviation aesthetics.

Guy Matthews III is the founder and owner of Plane Clean LLC, an aircraft detailing company he started at just 15 years old. Under his leadership, Plane Clean has grown into a well-respected name in the aviation detailing industry, known for its high standards, strong partnerships, and professional service. Matthews is also a licensed private pilot, further deepening his connection to the aviation world and bringing a unique perspective to his work. Beyond his company, he serves as a Member At Large on the Board of Directors for the Greater St. Louis Business Aviation Association (GSLBAA) and co-chairs its Student Mentor Committee, where he helps guide and inspire the next generation of aviation professionals. He is also a co-founder of DetailerPro, a management software designed to help detailing businesses streamline their operations and scale effectively. Through his various roles and accomplishments, Matthews continues to make a lasting impact on both the detailing and aviation communities.
